Description
The New Century Chinese Series consists of four books. Books 1 and 2 are designed for learners of Chinese and correspond to Level 5 of the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education. Each book comprises six lessons focusing on key topics such as education, science and technology, economy, cultural exchange, and the relationship between humanity and nature.
The series presents a diverse selection of texts, including contemporary social news, heartwarming yet insightful modern stories, and biographical sketches that reveal the human spirit. Each lesson is organized into distinct sections: Chinese Character and Vocabulary Explanations, Grammar Analysis, Comprehensive Exercises, Language Practice, and Extended Links. This pedagogical structure enables students not only to develop a solid foundation in Chinese characters, vocabulary, and grammar but also to apply this knowledge effectively in communicative contexts, thereby strengthening their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in an integrated manner.
