The New Century Chinese advanced series comprises two volumes (Book 1 and Book 2), aligned with Levels 7–9 of the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education. Each volume consists of six lessons. In selecting content, the textbooks follow the Framework of Reference for Chinese Culture and Society in International Chinese Language Education published by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education.
