This book is designed to teach Chinese writing skills to intermediate level learners who are not native Chinese speakers. Containing 20 lessons, this book can be studied for two to four hours per week over the period of an entire school year. This book is clearly structured, with each lesson including five basic sections: Study Points, Modal Essays, Notes, Exercises and Activities, and Assignments. Various writing styles are introduced such as the narrative, explanatory, and argumentative styles. Other written materials that students will find of practical use in their daily lives like requests for leave and e-mails have also been included, as has a lesson that focuses on teaching students how to design questionnaires.
