Chinese for Africans is designed for adult learners of Chinese as a foreign language from western countries, especially Africans. The course book in two volumes includes 40 lessons that have been compiled under the pedagogy of step by step progress, with each lesson containing two short texts to cover Sino-African communication. Detailed grammar points and exercises which focus on listening and speaking, as well as reading and writing, are included in each lesson. The book also provides an abundant corpus to fulfill the needs of African countries where Chinese learning materials are deficient. It is also accompanied by an MP3 CD in standard Putonghua to aid learners in improving their pronunciation and verbal communication.
